Great session coming your way…..now! But let me tell you a bit about it.
Once upon a time (really, do we have to start it that way?, OK, I guess not?) I had been thinking….it would be great to photograph BRAD + BRIANNA. See, they are part of our Faith Life Church family and I knew that they would be amazing. Plus they are photographers too, so they are excited about pictures, just like we are! (such an honor to be asked by others photogs) So, one day while working on my computer a message came in from BRIANNA that she wanted us to do a special Valentines Day session. Bulls and eye, this would be great! BRIANNA already had plans for a Valentines dinner and a cool dress and going to get her hair done. Yeah, I was pretty excited too.
Here are some of my favorites from the totally cool locations that we went to…
OK, OK, if you don’t know BEN + MINDY PETERSON, well, you are just letting the best in life pass you by. They are the extreme of coolness and photo brilliance. So, Wendy and I were so blessed to spend some time with them in their home and studio last summer. I had even mentioned, “if they ever do any training I will be the first one in line”.
Well, when one of our favorite labs, COLOR INC, sent out an email about “SAVE THE DATE” its BEN + MINDY PETERSON of STUDIO 6.23 at the Color Inc. School of Photography“. I thought, no way! So, now all I had to do is get there.
I knew it was going to be a quick trip. I mean real quick, as in drive all night back from Grand Rapids, MI. I needed a driving partner, someone with experience in these kind of extreme situations. Someone willing to go where no other friend would go. So I called my long time friend Tommy. Needless to say he was totally excited about it and offered to use his 4×4 Jeep Cherokee for the trip. (you know how it can snow in Michigan ;-D)
We had a great trip! The Color Inc School of Photography was great! BEN + MINDY were great, they even gave me a prize for traveling the farthest to see them. I would do it again tomorrow. That is how excellent these guys are.
At the end of the night BEN + MINDY had a photo booth set up for all the attendees. Got some rad pics from the night that I wanted to show you. And here they are……

And had to capture a shot of my prize. A FREE 16 x 20 canvas print from COLOR INC in Grand Rapids, MI. Woohoo!
We met SCOTT + TORY last summer when they were in/at JERROD + BRANDI’s wedding. Tons of family and friends from New Orleans came up for the wedding. TORY was one of the bride’s maids and also a very talented makeup artist (no link yet, but watch out, this girl is a superstar!) who did BRANDI’s makeup. I saw then that they are a ridiculously amazing couple with extra style. I knew I would photograph them someday. Oh yes, I will photograph them. Anyway, I went to NOLA (thats New Orleans, Louisianna: that’s ok, I didn’t know what it was either at first) for the super photomaster Mike Colon‘s 7 Workshop I was so excited to meet up with SCOTT + TORY the day before. First time in New Orleans….ready to go back. You blog followers out there probably know our style by now and know that the French Quarter in New Orleans is full of jaw dropping urban backdrops where every turn is another great shot.
